Saddest Day Ever

The day already started out really crappy by taking a pregnancy test that said a big fat "NOT PREGNANT". I did a second round of artificial insemination that again was a no go. I took the dogs potty outside like I usually did and left them out there while I went to go get ready for work. I came back out an hour later to seriously the saddest thing I've ever seen. It took me a few seconds to realize my brand new puppy wasn't right there the moment I opened the door. She had fallen in the pool somehow and couldn't get out because she was too small. When I pulled her little body out of the water it was blue and twice the size it usually is because she had so much water in her. I thought for sure she wouldn't make it. I was totally hysterical. I felt so bad she fell into the pool. Lexi has never fell in the pool so I didn't think anything of it! Jon and I drove her straight to the oet hospital where she was in an incubater for the day. Luckily she is safe at home again. Poor thing was smart enough to swallow the water rather than inhale it in her lungs. Her tempature was way to low so they had to warm her up. They said she may have been in the pool for the whole hour just trying to get out!! A few hours later the doctor called me saying she was back to her playful self! For those who don't know her name is Sophia!! Jonny named her (or Sophie for short). Thank you all for the suggestions!! She is healthy and at home having fun. She weighs a total of 2.5 pounds!! I took the day off to take care of her...Keep your kids and dogs away from the pool!! It can be very dangerous and traumatic!! Now I will be keeping her inside during the day.:(

as I was reading, i thought that there was no way that she'd be alive. my heart dropped a little. I am glad that she is ok. You are one lucky girl! That is the reason though, why I dont have a pool and will not have one until my kids can all swim well. Too scary!
