One Billion Videos

Okay I know there are a lot- trust me you can skip these if you want- they are from birth till now- I STILL can't believe how much he's grown!

Itty bitty
One of his FIRST smiles!

The first time he played with toys- it scared him to death when the toys would move- he still HATES them when he grabs ahold and can't let go

Aunt Tawnee

Subway in Florida- the poor strangers thought we were crazy making him dance :)
Hanging out with Andrea
Watching so you think you can dance- it would crack me up to see him bob along to the music:)
Playing in his recliner while I clean his room

Phone Dump

I finally ran out of room on my phone to hold any more video so I HAD to dump my phone- I found a few gems from birth to now that made me smile :)

First off- the hilarious card my sisters brought me the day I gave birth to Deklan (This was of course from his cousin Luke- only 5 months at the time telling Deklan how to "be Borned") hahahaha!!!!

This was the day Deklan's temperature went way low and scared me to death :( He was super lethargic- but luckily came out of it after a day in the warmer. :)
His first Dr.'s visit at two weeks old- still under 5 pounds!!!

ALWAYS slept with his hands up in the air- cracked me UP!

 Being Gangstas obviously

Seeing Grandpa's gravesite the first time

Sorry they aren't in order...next to come are a few videos :)

Mini Chalkboard Food Signs

These chalkboard food signs were so cute and easy to make so I thought I would share. You only need a few supplies. Wood glue, painting tape, wood chip pieces, wooden clothes pins, chalkboard paint, and a clamp.
Luckily my hubby bought three clamps which made the project WAY faster! The clamps were 99 cents each. CHEAP and worth the investment! First you use the wood glue and attach the signs to the clothes pins.  I put the clamp on them for an hour to let them set.

I did things a little backwards and put the tape on first for some of them. I would put tape on them AFTER you clamp them for an hour to avoid a mess. Just trust me.
Paint inside the tape and take the tape off after they dry. I did two coats of chalkboard paint. I should have stuck to the black chalkboard paint but they were all out at Michaels. Would have been cuter with black- but it's easy enough to make that I will just make them again if I need them. Voila! Food signs.

I got a new calling in church a few months ago. I am an Activity Days Leader for the 8 and 9 yr olds. I love it! It's pretty much the perfect calling because you still get to go to relief society and then you get to plan fun activities with the girls twice a month. The girls are SO sweet and and am already loving getting to know them. My partner and I decided to do one of the two big events of the year. We decided since it was the beginning of the school year it would be the perfect time for a modesty fashion show that the girls could invite all the parents too. We only had a few weeks to plan it but it was SO much fun!!!  So here was some pictures of the event last week and the reason I made the food signs in the first place. :)

We made a crepe bar- it was SOOO tastey!!! Gone in like 5 minutes! haha!
Some of the girls! :) Unfortunately I was running around like a mad woman so I didn't take pictures of everyone till the end when everyone was mostly gone.

And my boys- cause they're so cute! :)

5 months

Can I just say that the etsy stickers for each month are a rip off?? Trust me...don't buy em! I thought they were iron on's NOT stickers....as you can see. they get wrinkled and torn off by a 5 month old. I'm sure this will get harder each month! He was a tad more interested in his toes than a photo shoot but this kid is getting BIG! :)

A few things about Deklan:

He rolls over from tummy to back like nobody's business when it's just us.
He is the WB Frog though and hates to show off his new tricks in public or on camera- although I did get one good video of it :)
He smiles and laughs at mom and dad all the time
He is WIDE awake and talking constantly when he first wakes up in the morning
He usually sleeps from 10 pm- 5-7 am depending on the day.
He still takes LOTS of naps at least 3-4 naps a day for sometimes a half hour up to a few hours
He eats about 5-6 ounces every four hours- we are now switching to BIG bottles- YIKES!
He has eye brows now and super long lashes!
He loves to eat his toes
He is getting tall and skinny now- still loves standing with help
He is ALMOST saying mamamama and dadadada I swear he is close! Coos all the time and sounds like he's almost there :)
He knows how to throw a mean tantrum now. No joke this kid has lungs.
He is EXTREMELY sweet and cuddley still.
Still loves to be swaddled every night.
Sleeps mostly in his crib, sometimes next t mom and dad.
Loves loud base but I can no longer take him to a movie.
LOVES his jumper!!!
He thinks he's hot stuff and loves to look at himself in the mirror.:)

I could go on and on about this little man, we sure do love him! Happy 5 month birthday buddy!!!!

Life in a Nutshell

Mommy life is kicking in now high gear. Deklan will be 5 months old tomorrow!!! More on that later :) Things have been busy- but good! A few weeks ago, Jonny and I had our first date night out with a paid babysitter. We had left Deklan at this point only with Jonny's mom twice, and with our good friend Mindy a bunch of times. Mindy was a niccu nurse for 17 years, so I had a lot of trust in her. That and she has six children of her own that she cares for. She has been a life savor many of times I needed a little break. This first time with a paid babysitter though was different. We went on a normal date- dinner at B.J's Brewery, Krispie Creams, and a movie- a girl from our ward stayed at home with Deklan. It felt so adult like to be the parents leaving the baby with the babysitter at home. :) When we got home the girl told us he cried after we left for a little while, then ate and went to sleep. Sadly I FELT GOOD that he missed me! haha! It hit me that I AM HIS MOMMY. I am not just watching this little guy- he actually knows me, wants me, misses me, and will learn about life from ME. It felt good to feel needed. We got home and Jon and I stared at him in his crib for a good ten minutes just in awe that we made this perfect little boy. We are both so incredibly in love. I grabbed him and layed him on my chest and let him sleep- then Jonny wanted his turn to cuddle him. This time is moving by too fast. I could cuddle him all day. And am loving all the tiny reminders around my house that he is here to stay. I will soon be posting pics of Deklans nursery- it's all done finally- just needing to take pictures and post them. MOST of the time I am just MADLY in love with this boy and can't put him down. I say most of the time only because I HAVE had my frustrating days like anyone else. I do have moments where I need ME time, even if it's just to run to walmart for an hour by myself! It's much harder to get out of the house with a baby, but it's also MUCH more rewarding. And I am trying to soak in all the little things that truly bring so much joy. The house is FULL of baby towels, soaps,  toys, bottles, laundry, MORE laundry- and I love every bit of the baby clutter!

I was washing our bedding & put Deklan on the bed for 5 minutes when I came back to this sweet face :) So I jumped into our bed (with no sheets) and napped for a few hours with him. I LOVE that I can do this now!
our poor house is BOMBARDED with baby stuff! (Play mat, tummy time mat, jumper, door jumper, bumbo, carseat, and swing.....whew!)

I can't imagine life without the mess and wouldn't have it any other way. The responsibility of another human life is scary. Scary and amazing all at the same time. We fall in love with him more each day!
